9. Pickens County Courthouse Ghost
The mysterious face, known as Face Window, came from Pickens County Courthouse in Carrollton, Alabama, one of Alabama’s most famous past. It can be seen anytime – day or night constantly staring out the window. The story revolves around a former slave named Henry Wells, who lived at the end of the Civil War. Legend has it that the courthouse was set on fire.
The Lynch mob is said to arrest him, but in pursuit of him, Wales fled to the third courthouse, which was under construction. Wells peeked out the window to see if the angry mob had searched for him. However, at that moment, the lightning struck him and made his face stand on the window forever. To this day, it widely believes that Henry Wells’ demonic face kept popping out of the courtroom.
